Paid Internship: Marketing Assistant (NOW CLOSED)

Fixed term position: 3 months, 3 days a week


Based at the Wired Canvas office in London, near Borough / London Bridge tube station.


London Living Wage: £9:40 p/h + Fruit + Great Coffee + Exploding Kittens (NSFW edition).

The Basics:

The Marketing assistant will report to the Director and will also provide support to the whole team. This will be for specific marketing and digital tasks and also with general administration. 

We’re a small core team (four people) so everyone chips in - don’t worry you won’t be used as a footstool, or be the only one making hot drinks.

Over the duration of the internship there will be the opportunity to gain experience of a wide range of tasks including research, copywriting, digital media, and the planning and execution of successful marketing campaigns. You’ll also gain broad experience working in a design studio with the ability to see very tangible results for the work you do.

Strong communication skills, an enthusiasm for design and a can-do attitude is essential.


  • Ability to work as part of a team and chip in
  • Enthusiasm and knowledge for design
  • Highly motivated with a positive can-do attitude
  • At least one year’s administrative experience
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise independently, in consultation with others and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal, with an attention for detail
  • Experience of using multiple social platforms - such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook
  • Good working knowledge of an image editor such as Photoshop

Bonus Points:

  • A love of biscuits / cake
  • Basic knowledge of web / print design 
  • Use of Hootsuite, Buffer or similar social media app
  • Examples of writing for web
  • Ability to prepare copy for web use
  • A basic understanding of Content Management Systems - such as Drupal or Wordpress
  • Knowledge of Charities, the Arts and the voluntary sector.
