Check your answerphone message - is it still up to date? Does it include other ways to contact you, such as email or website, and your opening hours? Let callers know that, although you can’t answer the phone right now, they have at least come through to the right place and you will get back to them. Updating your answerphone message takes a few seconds and might be the difference between a potential customer deciding to call you back later, or move on elsewhere to a competitor. Make it informative, accurate, friendly and short.
