A tried and tested marketing tool, press releases are a great way to get the word out to local and national news sources about your event. Try to keep it “newsworthy” - is there an interesting slant that will make journalists want to write about it? What makes your news worthy of a story in their publication?
Include a couple of high resolution press images with your press release and try to send it via a personalised email to journalists. There are also popular paid distribution sites that will send out your Press Release to news sources, such as PRWeb or PR.co.
