Quick back story: Two of our team at Wired Canvas used to work at an art gallery in Dorset a few years back. One of the summer exhibitions that took place at the gallery was themed around Robots, featuring art and activities based on robots and robotics, and was targeted at families and children. To launch the exhibition we held a Guinness World Record attempt for the most people robot dancing in one place. Unfortunately we didn’t quite beat the current world record (which, by the way, is 276 robot dancers), however around 260 people turned up, including many local school children (who later returned with their families to see the exhibition itself) and it gained a huge amount of publicity in local and national press. So all in all it was still a massive success, cost very little to organise and execute, and kicked off the exhibition with a bang! (If you need photographic evidence, take a look at Rob’s costume from the event.)
Have a think about how you can do something really memorable and unusual to market your arts event or project. Could it be a party, a dance-off or a world record attempt? Perhaps you could also use it as an opportunity to fundraise for a charity and get some good PR for your company at the same time?
We specialise in helping our clients achieve their goals. If you need help advertising your PR event, or if you want to take your marketing strategy further, we at Wired Canvas can help. Have a look at our portfolio to see how we've helped others in the past and get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you!
